What is Blue Economy and Why It is Important to ASEAN

Advocating for #TheBlueEconomy has to be a priority. In 2019, researchers found that over one-third of marine mammals were threatened with extinction and cited human activities as the primary cause.

In order to protect these vital resources and ensure their longevity, one solution is to adopt The Blue Economy. Not only does this propagate sustainable and marine-conscious practices, but it also ensures the economic progress of ASEAN nations.

This approach also paves for an ocean of investment opportunities for industries in the tourism, fisheries, aquaculture, marine renewable energy, and biotechnology sectors. Specically, it is targeted at investors who are looking at a long-term perspective vested in contributing to a greener future and making a positive impact.
